The University of Parma was founded in 1117 and today has 18 departments. The university is divided into different poles: The Campus, located in the peripheral area, which gathers all the scientific faculties, the humanistic economic center in via d'Azeglio, the language department in Viale San Michele, the central building seat of Law in Street of the university and the Faculty of Veterinary in Via del Taglio.

Departments
The University of Parma, UniPr for friends , is divided into 9 departments that
carry our their activities in different places of the city (clicking on the names of
the departments, you will find the corresponding website):

  1. Department of Humanities, Social and Cultural Enterprises
  2. Department of Law, Political and International Studies
  3. Department of Engineering and Architecture
  4. Department of Medicine and Surgery
  5. Department of Chemical Science, Life and Environmental Sustainability
  6. Department of Food and Drug Science
  7. Department of Economic and Business Sciences
  8. Department of Mathematical, Physical and Informatics Sciences
  9. Department of Medical and Veterinary Sciences

Just to give an idea of the subdivision of departments in the city, we can say
that:
 Departments 1, 2 and 7 are located in the city center. The humanistic
(1) in Via d'Azeglio, that of Law (2) in Via Università and that of
Economics (7) in Via Kennedy.
• Departments 3, 5, 6 and 8 are located on Campus.
• Departments 4 and 9 are located at the Major Hospital and the Veterinary
Center

Places to study
Each department has its own library*

, but Parma also offers several municipal
libraries where you can study. You can find them in the list pointed out by
clicking here.
Moreover, when the sun still allows it or, for the most daring, even all year,
you can dedicate yourself to an excellent alternation between study and relax
time in the beautiful parks of the city: Parco Ducale e Parco della Cittadella.
*To access the economics library you must have a Student Card, which you can
collect from the International Office of Unipr.
Furthermore, with regard to libraries, it is useful to inform of the existence of the
digitized catalogue of the libraries of the city, which allows you to find out in

THE UNIVERSITY’S ONLINE PLATFORMS

The University provides its students with two online platforms that support and
make the university experience easier. These two platforms are:

1. Esse3. On this platform students can find everything related to their
academic career, such as the booklet with all passed exams and exams to
be taken yet. Also, there’s a section where you can book exams.
2. Elly. Each academic year the platform is renewed and here, knowing the
name of the department and the course, you can find the digital teaching
materials of each course.
*University credentials are required to access both platforms.
