Transport in Parma: The Ultimate Guide
For urban travel, Parma is perfectly connected by the local bus company TEP. With 15 urban lines, you can reach the Campus, the city center, and the train station in just a few minutes.
- Single Ticket: A single urban ride costs €2.00. You can buy it at a tobacco shop ("Tabaccheria") or directly on board using a contactless card.
- Night Service: Not all lines run at night! If you are out partying, remember that the lines extending their service at night are 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 21.
Day Trips (Extra-urban Lines)
Parma is not just the city center! The province offers beautiful landscapes and breathtaking castles. Thanks to the TEP extra-urban lines, you can organize day trips to surrounding towns like San Secondo, Fontanellato (famous for its castle and the labyrinth), and Colorno (the "Little Versailles" of Parma).
How to get the Student Bus Pass
Are you an Erasmus student? The most convenient solution is the quarterly university subscription. Here is everything you need to know to get it stress-free!
The Costs:
- €85.00 for a 3-month valid subscription.
- €5.00 for the "Mi Muovo" card issuance (you only pay this the first time).
- Please Note: The subscription always starts from the first day of the month in which you activate it. We advise against activating it at the end of the month!
Required Documents (Checklist)
Before going to the TEP offices, prepare these three essential documents:
- A passport-size photo for your card.
- The Unipr Enrollment Certificate: Download the "Autocertificazione di Iscrizione" from your ESSE3 Unipr page (Certificates Section).
- The TEP Form: Print and fill out this Subscription Request Form (alternatively, you can fill it out directly at the TEP offices).
Last step: Book your appointment
Bring all documents to the TEP ticket office (in Piazzale Dalla Chiesa or Barriera Bixio). To avoid the queue, we highly recommend booking your turn online!
