Below are the main activities, events and projects that we ESN ASSI Parma volunteers organize for our Erasmus! The description is short but we assure you that during these meetings something special and unforgettable always happens! We give you a simple advice ... leave the house and come and visit us! You will not regret it!
TANDEM NIGHT
About twice a month, on Thursdays, we organize Tandem evenings! These are events based on language exchange aimed at integrating Erasmus students and discovering new cultures! At the beginning of each semester, to encourage new Erasmus students to get to know each other, we offer friendly speed dates and then move on to board games in different languages, such as Taboo or the game of mimes! We meet after dinner in some places affiliated with ESN Parma trying to alternate them as much as possible to give the Erasmus students the opportunity to get to know typical bars / pubs of our city!
TUESDAY NIGHT
Our Tuesday evenings take place every week starting at 7.30 pm at an ESN partner club in the center of Parma. The evening begins with a buffet aperitif in the restaurant in order to allow Erasmus students to arrive and make a group. Then the committee always has a game ready, usually various types of games alternate, traditional and non, in order to please everyone, in which whoever wants to participate and always wins a prize (drinks, breakfasts in the room, t-shirts, etc.) and the beautiful program of the evening! A great way to start the week on the "right foot"!
CINEFORUM
Every second Thursday we organize the Cineforum with ESN. We screen films of Italian production, with the aim of making our traditions, stories and regional realities known through the artistic medium of cinema, traveling throughout the country with our most famous actors and directors. All films are in Italian with English subtitles, to help learning the language. We offer free popcorn, chips and drinks for an experience that is as close to a real cinema as possible!
TRIPS IN THE PROVINCE
With these famous trips we take our international friends to discover the local surroundings:
- The Castles of d'Arquato and Torrechiara
- the village of Vigoleno
- the Fortress of Fontanellato
- the Royal Palace of Colorno
- the Villa and the Verdi Theater in Busseto
- The Labirinto della Masone
In autumn, cultured and happy, we inevitably end the trips to the November Porc, the festival celebrated in all the neighboring villages dedicated to local products: the most varied and tasty cold cuts, fried cake and the famous Lambrusco wine.
ERASMUS IN SCHOOL
Erasmus in school is a project that aims to bring European culture and Erasmus students into schools, from elementary to high school, for the travelers of tomorrow. In this first semester we have organized a cycle of three meetings in an elementary school, and many other meetings have already been planned for the next semester. It is interesting to see how the fact of being placed in front of young people from all over Europe and their experiences stimulates curiosity and so many questions from students. EiS is the best way that ESN has to make itself known to the “little ones”, trying to make known and expand the Erasmus generation!
SOCIAL ERASMUS
Social Erasmus is a project that raises awareness among Erasmus students and helps them feel an active part of the community they live in, helping those in need. The projects are many, from charity to collaboration with Caritas. Another interesting activity is that of Exchange Ability, through games and activities the Erasmus students try to put themselves in the shoes of those with a disability. Blind games, food experiences and other activities that raise awareness among children and help them understand the difficulties of some disabilities!
